The University of Arizona Functional Genomics Core Data Retention Policy
All data generated using FGC resources will be shared with only the requesting researcher and their PI. Data will not be presented without permission from the respective researchers.
Researchers are responsible for downloading and backing up data generated in the core. The FGC is not responsible for the retention of data but will attempt to retain user data until the specified dates listed for each instrument below.
***Data can be retrieved from any computer without having to log into iLabs.
Instructions on how to manage data on FGC instrumentation
The ClarioStar :
- Data acquired on the ClarioStar is automatically saved to the computer. Data path: C:\Program Files (x86)\BMG\CLARIOstar\User\Data.
- Data will be deleted from the computer on a yearly basis.
- Data can be exported as two different file formats ( .RUC and .XLS). Data can be uploaded on to a storage device or sent via email.
- Please DO NOT save files on the computer's desktop! Files may be TEMPORARILY stored in a designated Lab folder located within the “ClarioStar_DesktopData” folder. File path: This PC / Desktop/ ClarioStar_DesktopData/ Your Lab folder
- To export data in. RUC formats open the Mars data analysis program:
- Select the test run(s) you would like to export
- Click "Export"
- To export data in .XLS formats open the Mars data analysis program:
- Select the test run(s) you would like to view/ analyze click "Open"
- Preform any analysis and select how you’d like to export data to an excel workbook
- Click the "Export to Excel" button
Operetta CLS Microscope:
- Data including experiment, measurements, analysis, and evaluation files generated on the Operetta is automatically saved to the computer.
- Data will be archived monthly to a server where data is kept for no more than 1 year.
- The data file path is: C:\Tis PC\ D (\\FGC-G7RHXP1) (Y:)
- Data will remain in your Harmony profile for up to 3 months before it is deleted.
- Archived data may be retrieved in limited quantities with assistance from FGC staff.
Octet Red 384 Biosensor:
- Data acquired on the Octet is automatically saved to the instrument computer in a designated Lab folder located within the “Documents” folder. The file path is : Libraries / Documents/ Your Lab folder
- Data will be deleted from the computer on a yearly basis.
